Reducing our energy consumption and CO₂ emissions
Sustainability
Sustainability is a core value of our organisation and its employees. We therefore commit to reducing our energy consumption and CO₂ emissions. We actively work to reduce our CO₂ emissions, both within our organisation and in collaboration with chain partners. Through the CO₂ Performance Ladder, we demonstrate our strong commitment to climate mitigation in line with the targets of the Climate Agreement, and our clear ambition to structurally reduce our CO₂ footprint.
We apply the following energy and CO₂ policy:
- We map our CO₂ emissions (scope 1 and 2) annually and publish the results via the SKAO CO₂ Performance Ladder.
- We set ambitious yet achievable reduction targets and take concrete measures to achieve them.
- We comply with all relevant laws and regulations regarding energy and emissions.
- We actively involve our employees in achieving energy savings and encourage sustainable behavioural change.
- We communicate transparently about our performance and plans, both internally and externally.
- We actively seek collaboration with chain partners and clients to promote joint CO₂ reduction.
This policy statement applies to the entire organisation and is evaluated annually and updated where necessary.
Our goal is to have reduced our own footprint by 100% by 2030 at the latest, compared to the reference year 2023.
We communicate our CO₂ ambitions, reduction targets and progress annually via this page on our website and the SKAO database.
In April 2026, the first CO₂ Performance Ladder certification audit took place by independent certifier Control Union. Upon receipt of the certificate, we will share our progress, action plan, CO₂ footprint and other required documents via the SKAO participant page on the CO₂ Performance Ladder.
With CO₂ Performance Ladder version 4.0, Spijkerman Prefab Solutions BV focuses on long-term climate objectives and sector-wide collaboration. This is how we build a future-proof organisation.
